These wonderful items can be given a further touch of personality by adding an extensive range of textures, colours and finishes including:

Textured

The face of the board removes the softer elements of the grain creating a stunning textured surface. The depth of grain can be increased or decreased by the number of times a piece is worked. Softer alternatives are available with the use of different settings – this provides an appearance with less of the grain removed whilst widening it slightly to provide a softer feel.

Edge & Face Distressing

This is achieved in the traditional way of hand tools. The edge of each board is hand worked by our dedicated craftsmen. The pickup of the grain highlights the distressed areas creating a feeling of an aged hand worked plank.

Kerf marks

These offer a very unique pattern and traditionally would have been created by the use of a sharp object such as an axe, saw or planer. Both circular and band saw marks provide the appearance and feel of hand cut pieces.

Soft sanding provides the timber with the appearance that the timber has been in situ for many years replicating wax build ups in the lower areas on the timber surface.

The colour spectrum is as infinite as your imagination, providing endless options through application. Available colours and tones range from white, light to mid browns, through to chocolate and blacks all of which can be over coated with lighter or darker pigments to create a fusion of colours. Base colours also lend themselves to liming which makes for an interesting contrast of colour from the grain to the face of the board and in some cases we have produced a raw limed effect whereby the grain is left completely natural whilst the base colour is still evident.

To complete you creative process the finishes we apply enhance the appearance of your bespoke floor are hardwearing and easily maintained. These include:

Hard Wax Oil (Matt & Satin)

Our hard waxed surface finishes are based on natural waxes and oils providing a genuinely waxed finished look. You can be confident that your floor will not only leave our facility looking great but remain hardwearing and water resistant too. Correct maintenance and care of this floor will result in a floor covering which will never require sanding.

Commercial Oil (Matt, Satin & Gloss)

As the names suggests commercial oil takes the wear and tear issue a little further and is the ideal topcoat for busy buildings with lots of foot traffic. The appearance provides a waxed look and feel whilst the maintenance is that of a eurethane finish. Note: Not for use on white, neutral or light coloured floors.
