Technical Challenges – SATRA ratings

One of the biggest sources of accidents in public places is from trips and slips – an area of health and safety which holds major risks for specifiers and installers who do not recognise the need to both assess and insist on slip resistance results from their suppliers. It is for this reason that Ted Todd have developed a range offering increased slip resistance.

Ted Todd understand the critical nature of these properties in a hardwood floor and has developed a range of solid wood and engineered wood floors geared towards the demands of regional public safety officers and the comfort of the public. The complete range within this group is pre-finished and Ted Todd can provide SATRA certified results as to how these hardwood floors perform against the industry standards – peace of mind without the costly and time consuming work of post installed finishing.

  • Frankie & Benny's - Sheffield

    In March 2009 Ted Todd supplied a slip resistant floor for a Frankie & Benny’ s restaurant in Sheffield. The special order 190sq.m of 140 x 20mm Toffee Oak heavy textured special lacquered finish, was fitted using Unisil adhesive.

    The main brief was to supply a practical and slip resistant floor that gave the best health and safety assurances whilst providing a stunning finish to a branch of one of the most popular restaurant chains in the country. This bespoke finish achieved a SATRA slip resistance rating of 37, which is rated as “low risk”.
