Plank Flooring Benefits

Wooden plank flooring is unique and individual. Being a natural material, grain patterns never reoccur, with each section being different to the next. They feel very sturdy underfoot and link your project to nature through their look and feeling.

Narrow spaces can benefit from laying wood planks down the length of the room, whereas larger spaces and square rooms look fantastic with planks laid on the diagonal. Regardless of the shape or size of the room you are laying within, plank is versatile and enduring. These designs will never falter in popularity.

Plank wood flooring has all sorts of edging options, with each granting a different style. Should you be creating a contemporary project, micro-bevelled edges help with their sharp, modern lines. If you project is more organic, then hand-rolled and soft-rolled edges are a greater choice, giving a traditionally authentic feeling to each plank.

Regardless of your specification, plank wood flooring will fit to your space.

Wood Plank Flooring Sizes

Plank wood floor is available in a massive selection of dimensions.

Choose from narrow plank flooring (80mm) and traditional width (140mm) to extra-wide plank wood flooring (180 to 220mm) and Superwide (260 to 300mm). These sizes make plank floors adaptable to all spaces, and you’re sure to find a width to suit you. Some planks are crafted as random widths, such as our award-winning Galion floor, this gives the wood and your space an authentic feeling.

Lengths can vary, with many of our planks reaching up to 3m. Should you require a specific flooring length be sure to get in touch with our expert team.

Many of these floors are also constructed using a thick wear layer, between 3mm and 6mm. This thick veneer, paired with large thicknesses (up to 20mm) assure that your floor lasts a lifetime, even in high traffic and heavy footfall areas.

Difference between Wood Planks and Wood Panels

They are very different, as a plank is one long piece of wood and panels are geometric patterns that have been fixed into place, with or without a border.

Well-known wood panel pattern examples include parquet de Versailles, Parquet de Chantilly, and Parquet de Chevney.
