Sustainability

Since we began manufacturing wood floors in 1993, our ethos has remained the same: to create great looking wood floors without compromising on sustainability.

Overview

Thoughtful consumption

Hollington plank wood flooring detail

Choosing a wood floor is a long-term decision. We focus on natural materials, durable construction and considered finishes so each floor can be lived with, repaired and maintained for decades.

That approach reduces replacement cycles and helps every project make better use of the timber already selected for it.

Our approach

Making meaningful choices

Since 1997, long before responsible sourcing became industry standard, Ted Todd has been committed to only using environmentally sustainable timber and supporting the regeneration of forests.

We source for practical choices that make a measurable difference without compromising the character of the wood.

Proudly remaining FSC compliant since 1997, guaranteeing every board is sourced from responsibly managed forests with full chain-of-custody tracking from forest to finished floor.

  • 02

    SVOC Free

Our floors are 100% natural wood, free from harmful PVC chemicals. Every floor meets the strictest European emissions standards, contributing to healthier indoor air quality.

  • 03

    Carbon Neutral

We offset the carbon footprint of our manufacturing process through verified reforestation programmes, making our production carbon-neutral from raw material to dispatch.

  • 04

    Designed for a lifetime

Engineered for durability and refinishing, our floors are built to last decades rather than years, reducing the cycle of replacement and waste that comes with lesser alternatives.

  • 05

    Recyclable by nature

Wood is inherently renewable and recyclable. At the end of its long life, a Ted Todd floor can be repurposed, recycled, or will biodegrade naturally, unlike synthetic flooring materials.
