Project Overview
A warehouse loft in London’s Soho was redesigned as a calm, minimal apartment within a busy urban setting.
Large windows, natural materials and a restrained palette required a floor that would support the architecture while maintaining a quiet visual presence.
Specification
The design team selected Ashridge plank for its subtle grain and balanced tone.
The floor provides warmth and texture while maintaining the simplicity required for Japandi-inspired interiors. Its clean plank format complements the linear architecture and open layout of the loft.
Ashridge was supplied unfinished and finished on site using Osmo Ultra Matt, allowing the final tone and surface to be tailored to the scheme.
Result
A calm, resolved interior where tone and pattern provide structure without excess.

Ashridge up close
Ashridge is a smooth, unfinished European oak floor made from prime-grade timber with minimal knots, sapwood and tonal variation. Its 2-ply engineered construction is 20mm thick with a 6mm wear layer. Planks are available in widths of 180mm, 220mm and 260mm, with lengths reaching up to 2.4 metres. Ashridge is FSC certified and can be finished on site to suit the wider interior palette.
