Light wood flooring includes timber floors with pale, natural colour tones and visible grain and texture. The Ted Todd range includes both solid and engineered wood flooring in plank, herringbone, chevron and more intricate designs, including design panels and end grain flooring.

Light wood flooring covers a broad palette of pale and natural timber tones. White wood flooring sits at the palest end of this spectrum and can create a stronger contrast with darker walls, furniture and architectural details. The finish and natural grain also influence how light or white a floor appears within a room.

Suitability for underfloor heating depends on the construction and specification of the individual floor. The majority of Ted Todd's floors are suitable for underfloor heating; please check the specification of each individual product for reassurance.

A light wood floor can create a brighter surface and a calm backdrop, which may help a space feel more open. It can work in both small and large rooms. The final effect will also depend on natural light, wall colours, furniture and the direction or pattern in which the floor is laid.

Choose the care system that matches the finish of your floor. Ted Todd recommends checking the individual specification sheet before applying any product. Light wood floors may require Care System 1 or Care System 2, while white floors may require Care System 3 or Care System 4.

Wood is a natural material, so its colour and finish can develop with age and use. Light wood flooring may gradually build a patina and take on a warmer tone over time. The amount of change will depend on the timber, finish, light exposure and how the floor is maintained.
