Prime grade European Oak is clean and uniform, with minimal knots, sap and colour variation, while nature grade European Oak has a broader range of these natural characteristics, with more variation across the floor. Consider how clean or characterful you want your European Oak floor to look when choosing a grade. There is also a wide choice of texture, finish, edge detail and colour. Colour is often the easiest place to start when choosing European Oak flooring. Both. Ted Todd offers European Oak in solid constructions, where each board is a single piece of timber, and engineered constructions, built from layered sections of wood for added stability. Engineered European Oak generally suits underfloor heating and busy spaces, while solid European Oak works well in rooms without underfloor heating and can also be used on walls and ceilings.

Natural European Oak has a light, warm, creamy colour, but Ted Todd crafts it into a wide range of tones, from almost bleached white through to rich, dark colours that are nearly black, using techniques such as double fuming, heat treating and hand painting.
