Fiskebar

Why B3 Designers chose Jacobin Parquet de Versailles for Fiskebar’s Lake Geneva cocktail lounge At The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva, B3 Designers combined textured timber, dark finishes, ceramics and brass throughout Fiskebar’s Nordic-inspired interior. Jacobin Parquet de Versailles panels introduce rich oak colouring and an intricate geometric pattern to the cocktail lounge. B3 Designers commissioned Woodworks by Ted Todd to make handmade flooring panels for the cocktail lounge. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops. Working to B3’s material and tonal requirements, our makers supplied Jacobin Parquet de Versailles panels with the rich, aged colouring required for the atmospheric scheme.

Set on the shore of Lake Geneva, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva is a historic luxury hotel overlooking the water.

Fiskebar, the hotel’s restaurant, is a Nordic-inspired concept that focuses on local ingredients, organic produce and excellent seafood. B3 Designers were brought on board to create a space that married contemporary Nordic design with the quality and simplicity of the dining concept.

Textural woods and a dark, moody palette were inspired by the Nordic landscape, while bespoke ceramic artwork and luxurious brass details are in keeping with the hotel’s history.

Jacobin Parquet de Versailles was selected for its chocolate and caramel oak tones, brushed texture and intricate pattern. The panels were fumed and finished with natural Restoration Oil to develop the rich, aged colouring specified for the lounge.

Jacobin up close

Jacobin Parquet de Versailles is crafted from nature-grade European oak, with dark chocolate and lighter caramel tones across its brushed surface. Each 980mm-square panel is 21mm thick, with a 10-ply construction and nominal 4–6mm wear layer. Restoration Oil penetrates the timber to help protect the surface while retaining its natural texture and colour.
