American Black Walnut under the gold chandeliers of Elie Saab’s London flagship The Lebanese fashion house opened its first London store within an interior defined by imposing ceilings and a restrained material palette. Warm American black walnut stretches across the expansive retail space, with its rich grain clearly visible underfoot. Following consultation with the project team, Ted Todd recommended Rivington from the Specialist Woods collection. Its American black walnut colouring and burnished hardwax-oil finish suited the scale, lighting and refined character of the flagship interior.

With a sophisticated mix of design opulence and restraint, the world renowned Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab opened his first London flagship store in autumn of 2016.
The stunning interiors have incorporated one of our Specialist Woods floors. After consultation, we decided that the best flooring to suit this prestigious store was Rivington, an American Black Walnut floor with a burnished hardwax oil finish. The warm, hardwood floor balanced the new store perfectly with its imposing ceilings and gold chandeliers.

Rivington is an American black walnut floor with deep, warm colouring and distinctive natural grain. A burnished hardwax-oil finish protects the timber and enriches the surface with a subtle sheen. The darker hardwood is particularly effective beneath high ceilings and statement lighting. Ingleton is the finished prime-grade alternative, while Blackmuir and Rivington offer the same formats in characterful nature-grade walnut.
