Inside Ruffians Shoreditch, a barbershop transformed by Husk Wide Plank Inside a former abattoir, Husk’s smoky mid-brown tone and undulating surface sit naturally beside the building’s original architecture and Ruffians’ eclectic East London interior. Ruffians approached Ted Todd’s commercial team to find a floor suited to daily footfall and the former abattoir’s strong architectural character. Following a review of the setting and its practical demands, the team selected Husk Wide Plank from the Warehouse collection. The engineered oak and hardened oil finish support regular use, with knots, dark grain and soft undulations reflecting the building’s original fabric.

Ruffians opened their doors in a new Shoreditch location as one of London’s top barber shops and social hub for the modern man. They called on our commercial team to find the highest quality flooring solution for this unique location.
Located on a bustling Shoreditch street in an old abattoir, Ruffians required the flooring to complement the building’s historic architecture and unique atmosohere.
Taking on the brief, our commercial team specified Husk from our Warehouse Collection for the project. With its smoky oak tones and subtle undulating surface, every board is unique, working incredibly well with the quirky yet stylish characterful interior of Ruffians and East London vibe.
Husk up close
Husk is crafted from FSC-certified nature-grade European oak, retaining knots, sap and natural tonal variation. Brushing reveals the dark grain, and softened edges shape its undulating surface. The 190mm wide planks use a 15mm engineered construction with a 4mm wear layer and hardened oil finish.
