PENHALIGON'S project interior

Penghalion's

Penhaligon’s heritage expressed through Hillstar Parquet de Versailles Founded in 1870, the British perfume house wanted its Wellington Street refurbishment to feel connected to its long-established identity. Hillstar’s warm natural oak and clean prime-grade character sit beneath the contemporary retail interior, with continuous panel geometry carrying the traditional pattern across the space. Ted Todd made the Hillstar panels from prime-grade European oak. Every element was hand-cut, prepared and assembled so the pattern aligns accurately from panel to panel in every direction in a Ted Todd Group-exclusive design. A furniture-grade birch plywood base provides stability, and all timber used within the floor is FSC certified.

British perfume house Penhaligon’s has been making distinctive scents since 1870. When it came to refurbishing their Wellington Street store, they wanted a look that reflected the company’s distinctive 149-year heritage.

The floor specified for this project was Hillstar, a classic Parquet de Versailles design, made of prime grade European Oak to give a clean, elegant feel. The panels are engineered with furniture grade birch plywood for stability and all the material used to make this floor is FSC certified.

The Parquet de Versailles panels are a key design element in this project, conveying a traditional feel to the interior, while at the same time appearing modern and sophisticated. The natural Oak tones in the floor are warm and welcoming, making a visit to this store a memorable experience.

Overall the floor feels natural and effortless. All the elements connect from panel to panel, this works in all directions and is a key feature of all Ted Todd Parquet de Versailles floors. Each panel component is carefully crafted so that the focus is on the pattern running through the panels rather than the frame, and this expert precision engineering is registered exclusively with Ted Todd Group.

From the sizing of each component to the quality of materials we use, to how we hand-cut every element, prepare them and polish them, we attend to every detail in our own unique way. All of our finishes are air-dried and this slow curing approach form finishes that are durable and natural. They take more time in every respect, but the result is more than worth it.

We work hard to deliver the highest quality at the best possible price, so please talk to us if you’re specifying Parquet de Versailles panels.

To achieve this result for your project we offer two options in our Unfinished Oaks collection. Hillstar is crafted from the finest new prime grade European oak and is unfinished. Hermit is also unfinished and is made from nature grade European oak, which is known for its broad range of characteristics. The construction of the Parquet De Versailles panel is 2-ply, 20mm engineered and bonded to 100% Birch Plywood. Both Hillstar and Hermit will allow you to create a look entirely unique to your project, arriving on-site without coating and customisable to the needs of your project.

Supplying the panels unfinished allows the final tone and treatment to be developed specifically for each interior. Please note that these images show Hillstar finished on-site. Samples of this floor will reflect a different tone.
