ST JAMES' project interior

St James'

A St James’ workspace detailed in Lauzes oak and blackened Jet panels Bluebottle developed grand meeting rooms, contemporary breakout areas and secluded sleep pods within a distinctly British interior. Lauzes alternates between plank and chevron across the meeting and reception spaces. In the library, blackened elm Jet panels establish a darker, more architectural surface. Woodworks by Ted Todd worked with Bluebottle to develop floor and panel specifications for the different areas of the workspace. Lauzes was selected in two formats for its seasoned character and natural movement, with Jet providing a deeply black panel design for the library.

Design and architecture practice Bluebottle led the renovation of this St James’s workspace, working with our sister brand Woodworks by Ted Todd on floor and panel specifications for its meeting, reception and library areas

In the 1600s, St James’ Park was home to much of Britain’s aristocracy, but it was only after WWII that this residential area transitioned into commercial use; it is now home to one of London’s royal parks as well as many fine dining restaurants and theatres, making it a sought-after destination for work spaces.

Bluebottle developed grand meeting rooms, contemporary breakout areas and secluded sleep pods within a workspace that retains a distinctly British character

Woodworks worked with Bluebottle to specify Lauzes in plank and chevron formats for the meeting rooms and reception areas. Made from new oak seasoned for 24 months, Lauzes has the mature character and natural movement associated with a long-established floor.

Jet panels were selected for the library. Made from blackened elm, the design combines French parquetry geometry with the Japanese Yakisugi process. Its deep black surface reveals silvery grain detail as the light changes.

Lauzes up close

Lauzes is made from new oak seasoned for 24 months. This extended preparation develops an established appearance, with character and movement visible across each plank and chevron element.
