Strutt & Parker
Inside Strutt & Parker South Kensington’s mixed Urban herringbone floor Brooklyn Herringbone was combined with complementary tones from the Woodworks Urban collection. White oak blocks, worn skip-sawn textures and hand-rolled edges form a varied interpretation of the traditional herringbone pattern. Woodworks by Ted Todd was commissioned to supply a mixed herringbone floor for Strutt & Parker’s South Kensington branch. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops. Brooklyn was combined with other Urban floors to develop the varied tonal and textural layout.

Strutt & Parker introduced a new interior format at its South Kensington branch, using material and pattern to establish a more distinctive client-facing environment.
Woodworks by Ted Todd was commissioned to supply a mixed herringbone floor from the Urban collection. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops.

Brooklyn Herringbone from Woodworks’ Urban collection was customised with various bold and neutral tones. The changes in colour and texture introduce variation within the established herringbone geometry, giving the floor a more individual character.

Brooklyn’s white colouring is applied to nature-grade European oak with visible grain and tonal detail. A worn skip-sawn texture sends lines across the surface in different directions, while hand-rolled edges define each block.
The mixed floor gives Strutt & Parker’s South Kensington branch a recognisable feature with the material depth expected from natural oak. Its varied surface complements the contemporary interior and supports the company’s move towards a more characterful estate agency environment.
Brooklyn up close
Brooklyn Herringbone is made from nature-grade European oak with a white finish, worn skip-sawn texture and hand-rolled edges. Each 100mm by 500mm block is 20mm thick with a 6mm wear layer. A super-matt Naked Skin Lacquer protects the surface while retaining the floor’s textured appearance, and the timber is FSC certified.
