Youthscape
Youthscape transforms century-old Bute Mill with Husk and Bernini planks Youthscape converted the former steam mill into a new base for therapy, counselling and youth work. Husk and Bernini sit alongside the retained brickwork and provide durable surfaces for rooms used regularly by staff and young people. Ted Todd’s founder chose to support Youthscape by supplying the wood flooring at cost price. We provided Husk from the Warehouse collection and Bernini from Classic Futures®, selected for their suitability within the historic building and their ability to withstand frequent footfall.

Youthscape is a UK charity which works towards helping and enabling disadvantaged young people through both hands on therapy and counselling.
Constantly developing approaches which can be passed on to others to be used throughout the UK. In 2015 Youthscape embarked on a full renovation of Bute Mill after outgrowing their original offices. Bute Mill sits in the town centre and was formally a hundred year old steam mill.
Wanting to contribute and support this charity our founder here at Ted Todd supplied the wood flooring for the renovation at cost price.
We supplied the renovation with Husk from our Warehouse collection and Bernini from our Classic Futures® collection.
The specification was a perfect match for the open brickwork accents throughout the mill and also capable of withstanding the high traffic demands that the rooms require.
Alongside how happy we are with the outcome, we were incredibly happy to support and work with Youthscape during the project.
Bernini
Bernini is a soft white, nature-grade European oak plank with subtle grey grain detail. The 180mm boards are medium brushed and micro bevelled, with a 20mm 2-ply engineered construction and 6mm hardwood wear layer. A durable 12-coat lacquer protects the surface, and the timber is FSC 100% certified.
