Inside GBK Clarks Village: smoky Monroe oak laid on the diagonal Double-fumed Monroe planks run diagonally across the restaurant’s central dining area. The layout gives the floor a strong directional quality, while its smoky brown colouring continues GBK’s timber-led interior. Woodworks by Ted Todd was commissioned to supply the flooring for GBK at Clarks Village. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops. Working with the design team on the Stuart Consultancy Ltd-managed project, our commercial specialists selected Monroe extra-wide planks from the Editions collection.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) opened its Clarks Village restaurant in Somerset with a timber-led interior reflecting the familiar character of the brand. The restaurant serves its established menu of gourmet burgers featuring British ingredients in a relaxed, contemporary setting.
Woodworks by Ted Todd was commissioned to supply the flooring for GBK at Clarks Village. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops.
Working with the design team on the Stuart Consultancy Ltd-managed project, our commercial specialists selected Monroe extra-wide planks from the Editions collection, which were laid diagonally across the central dining area.
Monroe is made from nature-grade European oak, brushed to reveal its grain, rays and natural knots. Double fuming develops the smoky brown colouring before each plank is hand-finished in our Cheshire workshops with super-matt Naked Skin Lacquer® for durable protection. The 220mm extra-wide planks are 20mm thick with a 6mm nominal wear layer and a 2-ply engineered construction suited to a busy restaurant.

Monroe is a nature-grade European oak floor, brushed to reveal its grain, rays and natural knots. Double fuming develops its smoky brown colouring before the surface is protected with super-matt Naked Skin Lacquer®. The extra-wide planks measure 220mm and are supplied in lengths from 0.6 to 2.4m. Each board is 20mm thick with a 6mm nominal wear layer and a 2-ply engineered construction. Monroe is FSC Mix certified.
