Hotel Endsleigh
A former hayloft becomes Suite 20 at Hotel Endsleigh, with Carrick oak flooring underfoot Suite 20 retains the quirks of its original life as a hayloft. Carrick’s shadow-sawn European oak complements Olga Polizzi’s romantic scheme and the historic character of this Grade I country hotel. Suite 20, The Stables, occupies a former hayloft within Hotel Endsleigh’s stable block. Its distinctive proportions called for a floor that felt at ease within the period property and Olga Polizzi’s richly layered interior. Ted Todd supplied Carrick from the Crafted Textures collection. Smoky-grey oak and a textured surface echo the weathered character of the original building, while the hardwax-oiled finish provides lasting protection for a busy hotel environment. Small pin knots, live knots and natural variation make every board individual.

Introducing a new suite at Hotel Endsleigh – Countryside Hotel of the Year 2019.
Formerly a hunting and fishing lodge for the Duke of Bedford, this Grade I historic house has been sympathetically developed into a 5-star boutique hotel by owner and designer Olga Polizzi.
Set in 100 acres of fairytale Devon woodland, Hotel Endsleigh is a rural idyll for guests, with the design and décor of the rooms drawing on the Repton-designed gardens for inspiration. Suite 20, The Stables, is the latest area of the period property to be developed. Originally a hayloft, it’s quirky and unusual in comparison to the other suite in the stable block. Here, Polizzi has chosen to incorporate our Carrick flooring into her scheme. The result of her vision is romantic, quintessentially English and impressive.
Carrick is available in our Crafted Textures collection, which carries a subtle reclaimed appearance. Small pins and live knots are visible beneath the shadow sawn surface of this flooring, a beautiful European Oak with smoky-grey overtones. Hardwax oiled for a long-lasting, durable finish, Carrick looks at home in rustic and modern spaces – which is why it fits into this space so perfectly.

Carrick is crafted from European oak with a subtle reclaimed appearance. Shadow sawing reveals the timber’s grain, small pin knots and live knots beneath smoky-grey tones. The hardwax-oiled surface protects the wood while preserving its tactile texture and natural character.
