Inside Indian Accent Mayfair: bespoke Melo chevron in pale oak DesignLSM reworked the clean appearance of Melo into bespoke 45-degree chevron blocks for the London restaurant. Its subtle sand tone sits beneath deep green velvet furnishings and intricate gilt fixtures. DesignLSM commissioned Woodworks by Ted Todd to develop and supply the restaurant’s bespoke parquet floor. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops. Our makers adapted Melo from an extra-wide plank into 45-degree chevron blocks before applying the specified finish by hand.

The multi-award-winning Indian Accent – known for its contemporary approach to Indian cuisine – has opened its doors in Mayfair to critical acclaim following the success of its New York and New Delhi restaurants.
DesignLSM commissioned Woodworks by Ted Todd to develop and supply a modern, pale parquet floor for Indian Accent Mayfair. Woodworks is our sister brand, specialising in extraordinary modern and historic wood floors, handmade panels and bespoke architectural details, developed and made in its Cheshire workshops. Working from Melo, our makers adapted the super-prime oak plank into bespoke 45-degree chevron blocks for the restaurant’s deep green velvet and gilt interior.
Melo is a 2-ply, 20mm wood floor with a subtle sand tone, and is hand finished with burnished hardwax oil at our Cheshire workshops. Its subtle sand tone and matt burnished hardwax-oil finish give the floor a pale, uniform appearance.
Melo up close
Melo is made from super-prime European oak selected for its clean grain, minimal features and consistent appearance. Its standard 220mm planks are 20mm thick with a 6mm nominal wear layer and lengths of up to 2.4m. The lightly brushed surface is finished with matt burnished hardwax oil, and the timber is FSC Mix certified. For Indian Accent, Melo was made as a bespoke 45-degree chevron.
