The right combination of materials, colour and pattern can set apart an interior scheme, to define its character and feel considered. For the launch of Esselle Home’s Exotic Islander collection, we partnered with the British interiors brand to explore how natural wood flooring can bring wallpaper, fabric and soft furnishings together to create a cohesive scheme.

Two British brands, one shared approach
The collaboration paired Esselle Home’s patterned wallpapers and coordinating soft furnishings with Ted Todd’s wood flooring. Inspired by tropical botanicals, geometric patterns and earthy tones, Exotic Islander brings together a range of designs that can be layered to create individual interior schemes.
Flooring plays an important role in how a space looks and feels. Naturak wood introduces warmth, grain and texture helping to connect colours, patterns and furnishings throughout a room.
Our collaboration with Esselle Home brought this to life, combining two British interiors brands with a shared appreciation for considered design and the details that make a space work as a whole.

White toned oaks and tropical blues
Linton Wide Plank introduced a fresh, white-toned oak to one of the schemes, complementing the cooler blue tones of Esselle Home’s Canopy Blue Wallpaper. Its softer interpretation of the tropical palm trend combines painterly detail with a subtle textured effect, creating a calm backdrop with a connection to nature. The natural variation and surface finish of Linton add depth beneath the wallpaper’s pattern, bringing balance to the scheme while allowing each material to stand out.

Balancing terracotta, green and natural honey oaks
Warm terracotta tones set the palette for this scheme, Novena Terracotta Wallpaper and Marris Teracotta Wallpaper features structural decorative patterns bringing rhythm and balance to the walls. Almond Narrow Herringbone echoes this movement underfoot, its repeating pattern adding detail and definition beneath the layered furnishings. The nature grade oak adds warmth and depth while the narrow herringbone format introduces subtle texture without competing with the wallpaper.
The floor worked so well in the terracotta scheme, we featured it again to create a softer, more relaxed interior with a strong connetction to nature. Paired with layered greens using Novena Green Wallpaper, Solana Green Wallpaper and Palmera Green curtain decorative patterns, Almond Narrow Herringbone brings balance and warmth to the scheme, enhancing its relaxed, welcoming feel.

James Greenwood, Senior Brand Manager at Esselle Home, said:
“Working with Rachel and the marketing team at Ted Todd felt like a natural partnership. For the Exotic Islander campaign, we wanted every detail to feel considered. Ted Todd’s beautiful wood flooring brought the warmth and texture we were looking to achieve for our campaign photoshoot, and really feels like the finishing touch to a luxury interior space.”

The resulting campaign photography shows how natural wood flooring can sit alongside decorative patterns, layered fabrics and considered colour choices to create an interior that feels connected.
