Working with The Landmark Trust and architects Witherford Watson Mann, Studio Ted Todd was commissioned to create wood flooring for the historic Astley Castle. Dating back to the 17th century, the moated castle was carefully transformed into modern accommodation within the original ancient walls. Taking care to leave historic features wherever possible, this project beautifully blends the old and new to breathtaking effect.
Studio Ted Todd provided a variety of bespoke floors designed to be in keeping with The Landmark Trust’s sensitive restoration of the stunning Astley Castle. The entire team revered the chance to work on such a unique project.
The Astley Castle restoration project went on to win the coveted 2013 RIBA Stirling prize. A very worthy winner.
