Project Overview

With a strong design and lifestyle ethos the skilled tradespeople at Tenet were the perfect team to take on this extensive family home project and delivered a renovation that matched their client’s vision perfectly.

How we helped

Prior to approaching our commercial team, the team at Tenet, did their research on hardwood flooring. They contacted our residential specification consultant Christian with a solid brief in hand.

Based on their requirements for a quality, hard-wearing product Christian set about finding the perfect floor to match. To assist further, sample panels of were sent FOC to the client to help them get a better picture of what the flooring options would look like once installed.

The brief specified a requirement for texture and colour variation with a natural look, as specified by the homeowner. Due to the volume needed the Ted Todd Warehouse range was selected as it offered the 20mm flooring specification outlined in the brief at a price point that suited the budget.

The Warehouse collection is a range of 8 floors offering a full tonal selection, undulating textures, and movement in each unique board. With excellent durability, these engineered planks and herringbone blocks have been brushed to subtly highlight the natural grain detail of the European Oak.

Light floors can offer a fresh spacious feel to any room and are the perfect choice for open floor plans and rooms full of natural light, as the grain patterns and unique floor colouring will be highlighted.

Outcome

The neutral colour palette of this hardwood floor sets the perfect foundation for the rest of the homes’ paired back interior style.

By chosing a light tone floor as a foundation, the family has successfully combined various tones of quality wood furniture with a variety of textures. Plus by using different wood finishes throughout – the cladding used in the games room and the bathroom feature wall, with exposed brick walls and ceiling beams – the space becomes homely and adds an extra dimension to the large open plan spaces.

By installing 350m2 of the same wood floor throughout the property, the whole space is brought together with an effortless continuity that flows from room to room to create a clean continuous appearance and a sense of uniformity that is undeniably elegant.

Brian Riddick from Tenet Developments Ltd said, “Strong organic lines and muted tones were central to our clients’ vision for the redevelopment of their North Oxfordshire home. We knew right away that the floor finish would be key to their strong design ethos, and our first detailed choice was the selection of flooring, well ahead of the start of building works.

We chose Ted Todd after very careful research. Their interesting and distinctive line up of premium products stood out in a crowded marketplace and we were impressed by their commitment to support us with some complicated decisions. Christian from Todd Todd helped us to make confident choices matching our clients’ brief and important investment expectations. The results are stunning – a finished project incorporating plank flooring from the Warehouse collection and delighted clients!”
