St Gregory's Road

Our renovation project is set in the idyllic Stratford-upon-Avon. This charming Tudor town built on the banks of the Avon River is best known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

In the first act we see the 5-bedroom mock-Tudor Edwardian home dated and in need of a major refurbishment. Featured on George Clarkes ‘Old House, New Home’ on Channel 4, owners Laura and Jonnie Chan expressed their main goal was to transform the tired property into a light and bright family home that complemented the young family’s lifestyle, indoor and out.

St Gregory’s Road

Project Type - Residential
Location - Warwickshire

In the first act we see the 5-bedroom mock-Tudor Edwardian home dated and in need of a major refurbishment. Featured on George Clarkes ‘Old House, New Home’ on Channel 4, owners Laura and Jonnie Chan expressed their main goal was to transform the tired property into a light and bright family home that complemented the young family’s lifestyle, indoor and out.

How We Helped

Prior to renovations, the downstairs appeared dark, disconnected, and awkwardly laid out. The kitchen, dining room and main living area all separated, creating limited access to the rear garden. The family were desperate to choose fittings that would bring in natural light, and use flooring to create a flowing, unified space.

With the help of a Ted Todd official retailer, PMC Flooring, Laura and Jonnie were able to bring this dream to life. PMC Flooring are part of our vast network of full-service flooring providers across the UK, who help homeowners specify, purchase and install a Ted Todd floor of their choice.

The Outcome

A project that took almost a year to complete, the home was truly transformed into the 21st century. Laura and Johnnie’s design choices celebrate the traditional features of the home in a modern style. Whilst filming the final reveal, George remarked the choice of fixtures and fittings ‘help bring the property back to its former grandeur – a classic touch to it but still feels contemporary”.

Now, a warm welcome awaits anyone who enters the grand entrance hall. The scene is set for an open plan downstairs, the perfect foundation for our Tattenhall herringbone floor. Each space flows effortlessly, from their cosy living room to their open plan kitchen, dining and main living area. The sun-kissed tones of our Tattenhall floor really unifies the space and adds warmth to the light, cool colour palette.

When discussing the renovation process, George remarked

“This is one of the grandest renovation projects I’ve been a part of…it’s a home for life.”

Featured floor

A warm Nature grade European Oak wood floor from our popular Project collection, Tattenhall suits both traditional and contemporary styled homes, complementing the overall style and function of the home.

Herringbone is a classic design that has maintained its popularity for centuries and looks completely at home alongside the antique and mid-century modern style furniture that the couple chose. Tattenhall is brushed to add subtle texture and is finished with hardened oil to make it beautifully durable. It also comes with impeccable eco-credentials, as it is 100% FSC certified.

Because our wood floors are made from the best quality wood, they are hardwearing and resistant to scuffs and scratches, suitable for every home, including those with young families and pets.

The project was managed by PMC Flooring, one of Ted Todd’s official retailers, specialising in domestic and commercial flooring projects of any size. If you would like more information on the above project or have a project you would like us to showcase, please contact the marketing team at 01925 283000.
